What is Vidi?

Vidi is a media center with support for Stremio addons. This guide will help you set up Vidi with two addons to make Vidi a Netflix-like experience but a lot cheaper1 and with all the content of every streaming service2.

This process is very easy, will take less than five minutes and will leave you with:

  • Better quality video than what streaming services typically offer.
  • All the movies and series you will find in the big streaming services and more!
  • Cost less than 3€ / month (the current price of Real-Debrid).

Guides currently available for iPhone & iPad and Apple TV.

Caveats

  • You can watch on unlimited devices from the same IP address. More information below.
  • You must choose the file you want to watch.3
  • Vidi costs $4.99. It’s a one-time purchase and you get it for all supported platforms.

Same IP address?

Real-Debrid has no limit on the amount of devices you can use at the same time but they must be on the same IP address. If you are watching a movie on the Apple TV and your kid is watching a TV show on the iPad connected to the same Wi-Fi, no problem. If your partner is travelling and watching on their phone over cellular, the Starbucks Wi-Fi or at home using a VPN your Real-Debrid account will get warned or even banned.

You can get around this limitation by using a proxy enabled addon like Comet but it costs more than Real-Debrid itself so it’s probably not worth it.

You can use your Real-Debrid account using different IPs, just not at the same time.

  1. Current price of Netflix Standard with ads is 4.99€ / month. Limited Netflix catalogue on two devices in at most 1080p. Real-Debrid is 2.67€ / month4 and has everything2 from every streaming service in up to 4K HDR5. Oh, and no ads.

  2. I obviously can’t guarantee this but give it a look, it has “everything” and if it not on there you can add it.  2

  3. Vidi will present you with a choice but you need to choose if you want the 4K HDR file that looked so good on your living room TV or maybe the more compressed 1080p SDR file that’s more suitable for your commute with limited bandwidth and cellular data.

  4. 16€ for six months, not even counting the bonus days you get.

  5. Not the awful bitrate poor compressed 4K versions you get on streaming services either, if you have the bandwidth you can get up to Ultra HD Blu-Ray rips.
