How do I get Real-Debrid?

1) Go to the Real-Debrid website and press Sign Up

2) Enter your details and press Sign Up

3) Open your inbox and activate your account.

4) Open the Premium Offers page and buy some Premium

Premium works like a pre-paid phone card. You buy time, like 15 days or six months. Then you can use the service for the amount of time you have left. Do note that you also get Fidelity Points that can be redeemed for more days. A little bonus.

5) Check out and pay.

I just use my debit card but they accept crypto currencies if you’re into that.

6) Now you can go to the API token page and access the token you need to set up Torrentio.

What is Real-Debrid?

Real-Debrid (RD) is a torrent caching service. That means that users of RD add links to torrent to their RD account and RD downloads the torrents to their servers. The user can then download the files directly from Real-Debrid.

Why do I need a torrent caching service?

The bittorrent protocol is designed to as efficiently as possible spread chunks of files between a large amount of peers. This is great if you don’t need chunks in order, but one such case where you do need chunks in order is when streaming video.

So I need to add a bunch of torrents manually?

No. RD has a nifty feature that will let you know if a torrent already has been downloaded or not. Stremio addons make use of this feature by taking a movie ID from a catalog, converting it to a bunch of torrents by searching trackers, presenting them to RD and returning you the list of ready-to-stream files.
